When it
comes to safety, BMW likes to say that "chance doesn't have a chance."
Drivers and passengers benefit from protection during rollover - even
when the roof is open - thanks to concealed rollover bars with built-in
sensors. In case of collision, the bars automatically emerge to provide
occupants. Some additional safety features on both the 128i and 135i
convertibles include airbags, headlights that swivel to better
illuminate sharp turns, and a wheel system that works even when tires go
flat. Additionally, the BMW Assist system enhances
safety while adding everyday conveniences. The system maps out driving
routes, alerts drivers to upcoming traffic delays, and can even contact
emergency personnel. BMW Assist is automatically included during the
first three years of ownership. BMW 1
Series Coupes for 2012 Like the new BMW
convertibles, the attractive new coupes for 2012 are available in 128i
and 135i versions that are differentiated by their horsepowers: 230HP
and 300HP, respectively. Also like their convertible counterparts, each
new coupe model boasts an impressive 28 mpg highway fuel economy. At the
same time, their six-cylinder engines have been awarded the
"International Engine of the Year" multiple times. The coupes can
accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds -- or in five seconds
flat if a double clutch is
added.
